Founded in 1856, Theta Chi is one of the oldest men’s college fraternities in North America.
Founded on the principle of friendship through the mutual assistance of every member, Theta Chi aims to provide its members with an enjoyable and fulfilling collegiate experience that also prepares them for rewarding, successful lives after graduation.
Alpha Chi Chapter was installed on April 21, 1928, and has been an active and contributing member of Greek Life at Syracuse University for 90 years.
Our collegians are leaders on campus, in the classroom, and on the field. As men of Theta Chi, we strive to become Resolute Men.
We were officially installed as the Alpha Chi Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity on April 21, 1928 and remained at this original location until August 21, 1987.
As the needs of our chapter and Syracuse University evolved, we moved to a larger house on Comstock Avenue, across the street from Haven Hall.
We currently reside at 711 Comstock Avenue, across from the Life Sciences Complex. As of April 21, 2018 we will have been active on campus uninterrupted for 90 years!
